Bitef Polyphony was launched in a year of great expectations and distant horizons, as a place of perpetual new beginnings, a pivot for theatrical movement and action in response to the demands of social reality. What has it carried forward through its formation, and what has it brought with it? How did one grow up alongside polyphonic practices and authors? On the occasion of the anniversary, we are gathering around a grand table—25 years and ten times as many voices that have created Polyphony since that first autumn in the year 2000. There will be movement, texts, costumes, props, strands, gazes, dramatic pauses, dialogues, processes, memories as well as new moves. We will observe the intriguing interconnections that create the relationships between art and society, and explore the role of polyphonic practices in education and community shaping.
