Tihana Lazović was born in 1990 in Zadar. She graduated in acting from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb. She began her professional career in theatre and film while still a student. Her debut film, Hush directed by Lukas Nola, earned her the Golden Birch award for Best Debutant at the Pula Film Festival. She went on to win the Golden Arena for Best Actress twice at the same festival, for her performances in Dalibor Matanić’s The High Sun and Vanja Juranić’s Just when I laugh. Tihana is one of the most awarded Croatian actresses. Her films have been showcased at major international festivals, including The High Sun at the Cannes Film Festival, On the Other Side at the Berlinale, and The Peacock Paradise at the Venice Film Festival. In 2016, she was honoured with the prestigious Shooting Stars award as one of Europe’s rising film talents. Tihana has also starred in numerous acclaimed television series, such as The Paper, The Last Socialist Artefact, Hush, Tycoon, and Success. Her talent has been recognised beyond Croatia, leading to roles in several Italian films. As an independent artist, she has appeared in numerous theatre productions, collaborating with directors such as Oliver Frljić, Kokan Mladenović, and Vinko Brešan.
