Communication

The play Communication was created through the application of drama in education, through eight months of process work in Media Literacy classes.

Director's statement: Dealing with the topic of communication and speech as a complex human ability that conveys thoughts and feelings to other people and that connects, understands, feels and thinks, twenty fifth-graders, working on this play, gave voice to everything that was silenced and lonely, looking for a way to say it, to share it, to understand it. And communicating with each other, they finally stood in front of others and shared their feelings and thoughts from the stage (another free and safe area of humanity!).

Why School, Why Theatre

Theatrical examples: Communication, Kulturociklin, Kruševac, In Our Cave, Young Theatre Experts, Belgrade, Utopia, Little Theatre "Duško Radović", Belgrade, For Your Own Sake, Dah Theatre, Belgrade, Meadow, Thalia Teatro, Slovakia

What kind of world do young people want and how will they create it? Can school and theatre today be a place for understanding of development crises and concerns of young people? Can they become a safe space where young people are empowered, and can they pave the way in the fight against violence and exploitation? Through examples of selected performances, the invited authors will consider how certain artistic techniques can be used in a society of increasingly pronounced inequalities and become the pivot of the educational turn. This finalizes the exploratory cycle of exemplary dialogues.

Exemplary dialogues Why School, Why Theatre round off the dialogue platform of the 24th Bitef Polyphony as a base for a new concept of polyphonic-dialogue programme creation.
