Theatre troupe “Playing in the Sand” was founded in April 2019 with an intention to explore, launch and promote a special theatre form - theatre of objects.
The troupe’s main idea is to explore this theatre form, both in practice and in theory, to produce full-length performances for adults, children and young people, but also to promote itself among other associates and colleagues in the domain of art, culture, and education. Theatre of objects is a form of puppetry in which, instead of puppets made in advance, everyday objects are used for presenting characters, events and emotions. Theatre of objects reminds us that each matter can have its own story, its own experience, even emotions, teaching us to observe things, characters and events more deeply, thoroughly and with understanding.
